Tasty, I have a quick question...
What can you, the true Lord of the Dance.....errr.....Keeper of the Holocron, rather, tell me about the great and mysterious planet of Kamparas?
If you want to know the truth, for stupid, personal reasons, I truly hope the answer is "not much."

I believe inconsistencies between movies and EU levels of power/ speed/ whatever are explained by the movies being reality, and the EU simply inaccurate representations of what actually happened. Sort of like an actual event growing more heroic (or villainous) with each telling.

Does the slower speed of the movies, for instance, contradict the faster speeds of the EU?
No.

My question, that is a gig continuity issue:
Does the slower speed of the movies, for instance, contradict the faster speeds of the EU? Say....Mace landing six punches on Kar Vastor before he can blink? the intense speed of people like Yoda and Mace EUwise? Would that still be canon as under the EU?

I think debates are healthy and fun (in the appropriate threads), so don't expect me to resolve anything here.

Please bring your arguments over who is the most powerful Sith Lord off of this thread. Tasty has already said that there isn't a definitive answer. This is not the place for that debate. We want Tasty to continue posting in this thread, so stop antagonizing.

Nebaris, quit spreading your partisan BS to the official forums and hurling around your opinion like it means something.
Perhaps, Leland would be interested in these choice words of yours: What'd you say, Nebaris? He gives 'no thought' to his word choices? He's a moron if he thinks like you don't? And I have direct links to those quotes of yours.
And Leland: I did chat with guys like Wallace, Tom Veitch and others who actually wrote the quotes and they told me what their original intention was in regard to power. Matt Stover confirmed what he meant in his opinion and that he believes it shared by Lucas due to the word by word editing.
Moreover, my question: Do movie actions 'overwrite' EU actions of more impressive feats?

@JMMC: I referred to the image when I said it was "turned upside down" not the actual ship. Sorry, but being a native speaker of French, I still have some problems to make myself clear in English. For me, it looks like someone turned the image of a totally normal looking Imperial-class Destroyer upside down to fool others by claiming it would show the hangarless underside of the ship, though it is the upper side. That's why I have doubts about the +Tector+-class appearance in RotJ and asked for confirmation.

Hi Tasty!
*+IG-88C: Destroyed in orbit above Tatooine
IG-88D: Destroyed by Dash Rendar on Ord Mantell+*
Boba Fett destroyed the ships of both droids over Tatooine after they tried to ambush Slave One. That's how the +SotE+-comic, Battle of the Bounty Hunters and the IG-88-Tale describes it. So I wonder how "D" managed to get to Ord Mantell after this event. Is there an explanation for this?
+That is indeed what the author was referring to when he came up with the name for the +Tector+-class. +
So does the +Tector+-class actually appear in the film or was the idea of this class only based on the design of the ROTJ-ship? (Sorry for asking all this again, but I still don't get it.)

Well the exact quote is that he was "the greatest master of evil ever to use Sith power." imo, it refers to a mixture between his dedication to the darkside, his willingnous to do exactly what he must for the darkside, and how strong his hate, anger and evil were. The person I'm debating believes it refers to combat prowess, however this was said in respect to the time of AotC (not his DE incarnationm where he actually does become a force titan), and that just doesn't make sense, seeing as in-universe evidence heavily contradicts that (Exar, Bane, Nihilus and a few others are firmly above any PT incarnation of Sidious). However, we've kind of reached a point where neither of us will back down from our PoVs, so I was just wondering, even if the quote worked his way, if it contradicts logic and common scense applied to comparing Sidious to all previous sith lords, would it still count?

- Well, that looks a lot like an Imperial-class Destroyer someone turned upside down.*
The point of creating that class was not confusing an upside down destroyer with an all new design. I believe the point was that the underside of that ship does not have the big, obvious landing bay that the others have. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm getting that wrong.

say if we were having a debate on who was the most powerful sith ever, and a random sourcebook states that Sidious is, would that make it absolute, and render the discussion over, or would is still only be a matter of opinion and still up for debate?
There's always going to be room for interpretation and debate. Is the power being measured referring to his mastery over the dark side of the Force, the governmental powers he wields as Emperor, or some combination of both?
*I was under the impression that Boba Fett destroyed three of the four IG-88-units himself (2 over Tatooine, 1 in Cloud City) and that the last one blew up with the second Death Star.
Is the duel between Dash Rendar and IG-88 on Ord Mantell considered canon?*
IG-88A: Uploaded into Death Star II core
IG-88B: Destroyed by Boba Fett on Cloud City
IG-88C: Destroyed in orbit above Tatooine
IG-88D: Destroyed by Dash Rendar on Ord Mantell
I just received the information that the Tector-class Destroyer which is briefly mentioned in the RotS-Cross-Sections actually appears in RotJ. I couldn't believe it, so I searched for proofs and stumbled across this image. Well, that looks a lot like an Imperial-class Destroyer someone turned upside down. I suppose the RotJ-appearance was just made up by a fan then? Or is there any other visual proof for it?
That is indeed what the author was referring to when he came up with the name for the +Tector+-class.
Is there any connection between the species of Loje Nella and the Rutanians or are these just two similar looking species?
Similar-looking species, with any possible connection yet to be established. Loje Nella is actually a Riorian, since the Rioirian image shown in the RPG Wanted by Cracken is Ep VI concept art for the character referred to by production as the Toadstool Terror.

...nearly forgot it. (Sorry for double posting )
There seems to be some confusion about the origins of Loje Nella, a character from RotJ whose likeness most prominently appeared in the CCG. There, he is described to be a descendant of the cliffborer worms.
The cover of "Jedi Apprentice: The Shattered Peace" features a slightly altered version of this image to portrait a Rutanian.
Is there any connection between the species of Loje Nella and the Rutanians or are these just two similar looking species?
Thank you.

1 more question LC, we're debating to what extent PoD retconned BotS at the KMC forums, and I was curious, does Revan's holocron and the fact that Bane came up with the Rule of Two from it contradict the fact that Bane came across Nadd's holocron at all?

Hi Tasty!
2 questions:
1 about the "Shadows of the Empire" videogame:
I was under the impression that Boba Fett destroyed three of the four IG-88-units himself (2 over Tatooine, 1 in Cloud City) and that the last one blew up with the second Death Star.
Is the duel between Dash Rendar and IG-88 on Ord Mantell considered canon? If so, which unit is this supposed to be (A-D) and how did it survive the encounter with Fett?
2: How many days/months ABY does "Vader's Quest" take place?
Thank you.
